What Does a Concrete Driveway Cost in the Central Valley?
Straightforward numbers based on the projects we actually do — so you can plan your budget before you ever pick up the phone.
Most concrete driveways, patios, and walkways we install in Manteca, Stockton, Sacramento, Elk Grove, and Lodi fall between $900 and $1,200 per cubic yard for a standard broom-finish installation. That starting point assumes a reasonably flat lot, clean access for our equipment, and a straightforward base — which describes the majority of the residential jobs we take on.
A typical two-car driveway runs roughly 37 feet by 17 feet at 5 inches thick, which works out to about 9 to 10 cubic yards of concrete. On a standard project, that puts most homeowners in the $8,000 to $12,000 range, depending on site conditions and the finish selected. Our minimum project size is $2,500, so smaller repairs and walkway sections are still on the table.
What Moves the Price Up
- Decorative finishes — Stamped and colored concrete adds 30–50% over a standard broom finish. The extra cost covers the pattern work, color hardener, and sealing.
- Demolition and removal — We break out your existing concrete and haul it away before we pour. This is included in our quotes — there is no separate demo crew to coordinate.
- Base preparation — Soft or unstable soil may need additional base material and compaction. We use six-sack concrete on every job, but a poor base beneath it shortens the life of any slab.
- Site access — Tight driveways, gated entries, or lots with overhead obstructions can limit truck access and add time to the pour.
- Rebar and reinforcement — Most residential driveways need wire mesh or rebar. We specify the right reinforcement for each job based on the load and soil conditions.
Permit requirements vary by city. In some cases a permit is required; in others it is not. We will let you know what applies to your project during the estimate so there are no surprises after work begins.
How We Quote and What to Compare
Every estimate we provide is line-itemized — demolition, base prep, concrete, finish, and cleanup are listed separately. That makes it easy to compare us against other bids. When you are reviewing multiple quotes, make sure each contractor is quoting the same concrete strength, the same base prep depth, and the same scope of demolition. A lower number that skips proper compaction or uses a weaker mix is not a savings — it is a problem that shows up in two or three years.
We require a deposit of $1,000 or 10% of the total project cost — whichever is less — before scheduling. The balance is due upon completion. We accept check, credit card, cash, and Zelle. For larger projects, third-party financing options are available.
Timeline and Warranty
Most projects go from estimate to completed pour in 3 to 10 days. We schedule promptly and do not drag jobs out. Once the concrete is placed, you will need to stay off it for 24 to 48 hours and avoid heavy vehicle traffic for about a week while it cures.
All of our work comes with a one-year warranty on structural cracks. To qualify, a crack must be wide enough to fit a quarter coin inside it. Hairline cracks — the fine surface lines that are common in concrete as it cures and settles — are a normal characteristic of the material and are not covered. If a qualifying crack develops within the first year, we come back and make it right — no arguments, no runaround.
The best way to get an accurate number for your specific project is to request a free estimate. We will take a look at the site, walk through the options with you, and give you a clear written quote — no obligation, no pressure.
